Mihretu

We saw our doctor yesterday for Mihretu's "welcome to Canada visit". His stool cultures came back negative for parasites, and given that his BIG belly enters the room before the rest of his body, she has reordered the tests. He is also being sent for weekly physio appointments to assess and determine whether or not his awkward gait and lack of balance is due to lack of gross motor skills or something neurological. When we first picked M up, he would fall constantly while walking. The care givers indicated that he has always had this problem coupled with his unique way of walking. That being said, he had improved dramatically since we picked him up. He still falls while walking up the stairs, or maneuvering on uneven ground, but the difference in 3 weeks is amazing!

He may have difficulty standing upright, but he has no problem standing on his head!
