Finally home!

Blessed beyond measure....

I woke up very early this morning to the phone ringing (I am sleeping with the phone beside my pillow....only a fellow adoptive parent would understand!!!! *smile*)

I answered the call half asleep and was immediately awakened by the sweetest little voice saying,

"Hi mommy, I love you." (Fikru)

The river of tears started to flow and I stumbled through the conversation...trying to find the right words to say....but alas....nothing could compare to what I had just heard. The thoughts and emotions I am feeling are too profound for words.

So.....how was their journey to Africa?

Fabulous!

I don't think Caity will ever return. She says her brother is AMAZING. And seriously, she won't stop repeating that word! She is having the time of her life!

They arrived in Ethiopia yesterday and were told by our agency rep that Fikru was quite upset that he was not allowed to go to the airport to pick them up. Solomon spoke with Bruce and it was decided that Fikru would be with his daddy and sister the next day instead of waiting until Wednesday. WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY!!!!!!!!

Fikru is insistent on the fact that he is 8 yr old. I guess he doesn't realize that his 9 th birthday was in July. His 10 th birthday (next July) will be one he will not forget!!!! *smiling* I asked him if he was coming home and he raised his little voice and said, "yes". I'm not sure how I will survive the next 9 days....but I'm hoping sleep will part of the plan.

Off to hang MY SON'S pictures on his wall!!!!!!

Oh Corrie! I have tears streaming down my cheeks right now. I'm so happy for you! What a wonderful voice to wake up to.
I hope the 9 days go by quickly until Fickru can say it in person!
God bless!

Thinking of you as you wait. I really hope Jermaine can meet Fikru someday. They are both such incredible "unexpected" gifts!
