My men are coming home in 3 sleeps....leaving behind a son and brother while we wait for immigration to issue his visa.
Bittersweet.
Two of men can't wait to sleep in their own beds, have a fifteen minute shower, eat chili and lazagna and resume life as normal.
My Ethiopian son, is struggling. Leaving his land of birth is very, very difficult. His voice on the phone is incredibly sad. I make promises to return with him in a few years to visit, to pay the phone bills for him to keep in contact with his friends, I remind him of his hockey team who are anxiously awaiting his arrival home....but none of this can ease his grief.
When we picked him up 2.5 yrs ago, he was soooo excited to come to Canada.
It will not be the same this time.
Please pray for his tender heart.
He is such a blessing to our family, and such a treasured young man to those he leaves behind in Ethiopia.
